Social Services and Patient Ombudsperson

You can contact the social services and patient ombudsperson when you are dissatisfied with the service, treatment or care you have received. Please contact first your own service or treatment unit to solve your matter. Social services and patient ombudsperson:

• Advices regarding the application of the client an patient acts and early childhood education
• Advices and assists when needed in making an objection
• Advices how a complaint, claim for adjustment and file for a patient injury re…port or an other matter regarding legal safety in clients/patients social and health care services or early childhood education can be started to a competent authority
• Follows the development progress of clients and patients status and rights in the wellbeing services county and collates new information that comes from costumer contacts
• Informs about clients/patients rights and acts to promote the clients/patients right and status
• Acts in an unpartial and independent role, and doesn´t act as a legal advocate for the client/patient.

Social services and patient ombudsperson don´t make any decisions on social services, don´t grant benefits and can´t change any decisions. He/she doesn´t take a stand on the activities of the unit or its staff that gives service/care or whether an injury has occurred during the patient's treatment. Social services and patient ombudsperson doesn´t take a stand on Kelas, TE Office or other authorities activities.
