The wellbeing services county gives support to those who need help because of the shooting together with other authorities and actors

The wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava has been and continues to be a help and support in many ways.

Several rescue units from Central Uusimaa Rescue Services arrived quickly to the site.

The social and crisis emergency service took care of the initial crisis help at the incident site. The work still continues. The social and crisis emergency service gives psychosocial support at the school and gives support to families and inhabitants in the area, who is in need of it.

Likewise, the student welfare crisis support team in the wellbeing services county went immediately to the site. The student welfare works at schools and participates closely by supporting the students in their everyday school life. The student welfare resources have been temporarily reinforced with other professionals, where they are most critically needed. In the student welfare works school social workers, nurses and school psychologists.

The wellbeing services area has ordered a emergency response unit of psychologists from the Finnish Red Cross to handle the situation. This significantly strengthens the handling of the situation, where there are many persons who need support.

The services of the social and health services as well as the child welfare are provided to those who need them.

The wellbeing services area has in cooperation with Vantaa city has set up a coordination group for psychosocial support, to ensure that school shooting victims and their families receive the long-term support they need.
