Here at VAKE, we have been responsible for providing the social welfare, healthcare, and emergency services that the residents of Vantaa and Kerava need for over three years now. During our first council term, we focused on getting the new organisation established, promoting staff well-being and professional development, and consolidating our operations. Now, we are focusing on how to improve our services ever further.
This issue features articles on the Tikkurila Senior Centre and the Myyrmäki Family Centre, which are both currently under development. In addition to these major efforts, our employees work every day to ensure your well-being, health, and safety.

The Finnish summer invites us to draw strength from the beauty of nature and all the light and warmth. Our wellbeing services county employees are on standby to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones in the summer as well.
At the same time, I hope that we all remember to be prepared for unexpected situations in our own lives. It is good to check that the people close to you can manage for three days on their own without any help from the authorities, in case there is an electricity blackout for instance. Is there enough food, water, and medicine to last several days?
