We have successfully reduced the wait times for care home applicants through systematic development efforts.
Care home queues were extremely long in the early years of the wellbeing services county, threatening to grow out of control. We however changed our operations in a way that significantly reduced the wait times.
Currently, VAKE waiting lists for care homes are among the shortest in all of Finland. This has been achieved for instance by developing rehabilitation and assessment services as well as by adopting the personal physician model.
