A cat found its way into the temporary morgue at Katriina Hospital

News

A cat managed to get into the temporary morgue, where it was able to interfere with the bodies of the deceased.

“As soon as we heard about this, we contacted the family members of all the deceased. It's very regrettable that this happened. We are very sorry that it was possible for this to occur,” says Kati Liukko, Executive Director of Healthcare Services.

More space for the morgue was ordered last summer. Installation of the new spaces has only started this week, due to long delivery times.

“Something like this could never happen in a normal morgue with several doors,” Kati Liukko notes.

According to information gained by the wellbeing services county, a police report has been filed. The police are investigating the matter further.
