Armi Hyry was appointed to service area director for nursing home services for elderly

Armi Hyry was appointed to service area director for nursing home services for elderly in Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county. She started her job 23.9.2024.

Hyry was selected for the job when the earlier service area director moved to work in another wellbeing services area. The position was publicly open for applications 10.6-19.7.2024 and 38 applications arrived, of which 36 met the eligibility criteria for the application. Eight applicants was invited to the first interview and four proceeded to the second phase, where in addition to an interview a preliminary task was given to the applicants.

In the evaluation of the applicants participated the executive director for services for the elderly, service area director, managers and representatives of HR from Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county. The applicants were required to have a higher university degree, experience of leadership and change management as well as excellent knowledge about services for elderly and nursing home services.

Based on applications, work experience, personal evaluation, interviews and the task and an the performed overall assessment Armi Hyry was chosen for the job as executive director.

Hyry worked before she started this job as a director for self-supervision in the wellbeing services county of Päijät-Häme. She has vast and strong leadership experience as well proof of effective and efficient leadership from both private as public sector. In addition, Hyry has extensive experience of services for elderly and supervisor work.

The executive director for services for the elderly is responsible for the nursing home services activities, economy and staff as well as lead the supervision of the service areas activities, assessment and development.
