Students and seasonal workers

We carry out extensive cooperation with various educational institutions, such as universities, universities of applied sciences and upper secondary institutions. The most common form of cooperation is internships linked to students’ education and qualifications. We offer a wide range of internships in various sectors.

As a student, you can complete internships or work placements included in your studies at the workplaces of the wellbeing services county. Internships can be paid or unpaid, depending on the degree and field of study. The duration and timing of internship periods also vary between fields.

Our internships are advertised through different channels, depending on the study module, the type of internship and whether it is paid or unpaid. You can find them on the vakehyva.fi website, for example. Internships for students at universities of applied sciences, especially in the social and health care sector, are published on www.jobiili.fi according to semester-specific schedules.

Summer jobs are primarily for university students and vocational students. For vocational students, a summer job lasts between one and three months. 

You can apply for summer jobs at the wellbeing services county through an online recruitment system. The more detailed job descriptions and qualification requirements can be found in the job adverts.

We invest in the training and career development of doctors. For example, all health centres in Vantaa are part of our professional Teaching Health Centre. The education and training of Bachelors of Medicine and doctors specialising in general medical practice are coordinated by the Teaching Health Centre. We have a designated senior medical officer in charge of training and three super tutors.

Are you a 4th-year medical student hoping to gain work experience in a relaxed and friendly working environment? Come and work in Vantaa or Kerava for the summer. With us, you gain experience from a wide range of hospital services in primary care. For example, Katriina Hospital has seven rehabilitation wards and a geriatric outpatient clinic, while Peijas Hospital has two geriatric assessment and acute care wards and an at-home hospital.
