Home services for families with children

Home services for families with children is a temporary service under the Social Welfare Act for families with children living in the wellbeing services county. The services are granted based on your special family or life situation or on a reason that limits your functional ability. Possible reasons include an illness, childbirth, injury or other similar reason, such as exhaustion. Special family situation may also apply to a family with a disabled child or twins. The services are not granted solely for cleaning, daycare when the parents are at work or studying, pre- or after-school care, sudden cases of illness in the children or to support the parents' hobbies.

Other parties, such as a maternity and child health clinic, social instructor or social worker can also refer you to the service. The need for support is assessed with you before and during the process.

You can contact us if 

- you feel exhausted
- you need help and support during pregnancy or after childbirth
- your baby keeps you up at night
- you gave birth to more than one child at once
- you need help with depression or other mental health issues
- your life situation has drastically changed or you are facing a crisis, such as a divorce or family member falling ill
- someone in the family is suffering from a long-term illness or injury
- you need guidance and support for everyday life
- you have some other special need (will be assessed together with other professionals working with your family).
