The wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava (VAKE) are taken into use self-registration machines at all health centres during the spring 2026. The machines are already in use in oral health care and Kivistö and Kerava health centres.

In the future the clients register for both the booked appointment as for the queue with the machines. The registration applies to all services at the health centre. Registration only with the machines, when they have been taken into use at the health centres.

At some health centres, also HUS LAB and HUS RTG operates in the same facility, who have their own machines and separate service numbers.

How does the the machine work?

  1. Show the Kela card, driver´s license or the personal barcode on the ID card or the QR code on the back of the new ID card. The QR code on front of the new ID card don´t contain the personal identity code and the machine can´t find the appointment with it.
  2. When you have showed your card, the machine marks you as registered for the booked time.
  3. If you don´t have an appointment: choose the service on the machine, which you want to register for ( i.e. emergency clinic or patient office/guidance). If several family members need to register, register every person requiring care separately. When the first one is called, you can all go into the room at the same time.
  4. You will automatically get a ticket from the machine, which include your service number and directions to the right waiting room.
    • The service number is not a queueing number, but the machine gives it randomly. The number remains the same, even if you will go to many experts.
    • The service numbers are not in queuing order, so wait for your turn.
    • If you have appointments to several experts, keep your service number during the whole time.

Waiting room

  1. When you have received the service number from the machine, go the waiting room according to the directions on the ticket.
  2. The expert will call you with your service number to the room. You can see the expert´s call on the info screen in the waiting room. On the info screen you can see:
    • the service number, when you are called to the room,
    • the room number beside the service number,
    • the latest information such as, campaigns and events.

Where are the machines located?

At most health centres the machines are located directly at the entrance. At Martinlaakso, Korso and Tikkurila health centre there are machines on every floor.

At some oral health clinics the registration point can be moved from the unit to the lobby on the bottom floor. You register in the same way, but in the future it is made before going to the oral health clinic.
