At the moment there is a backlog in the treatment of service decisions in the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Keravas (VAKE) services for disabled. We work actively to alleviate the situation.

Assessment of the need for services for disabled and making service decisions is at the moment backlogged. For example, the increase of contacts and change in Disability Services Act has affected to the backlog.

The causes for the backlog have been identified, and steps have been taken to correct the situation.

"We are sorry for the situation and for the delay in service decisions", tells the director for social work with adults and services for persons with disabilities Minna Lahnalampi-Lahtinen.

"We have a clear plan to correct the situation, and the clearing of the backlog is our priority at the moment", continues Lahnalampi-Lahtinen.

Efforts have been made to resolve the situation by streamlining processes and increasing work prioritization. Furthermore, the client assistance for disabled is starting to cooperate more with client assistance for elderly.

"Our goal is to restore the fluency of the service and secure, that every customer gets assessment of the service need and decisions in reasonable time."
