Confidential e-mail is a secure way to send sensitive information. Use it, for example, when your message contains information about health status, social welfare client relationship, personal ID codes, financial information or confidential documents. Through the service, you can send your message with attachments to the county‘s e-mail addresses, such as the registry, the Data Protection Officer and the Social and Patient Ombudsman.
To send a message, open the following address in your internet browser: https://turva.vakehyva.fi
You can start using the service by registering the e-mail address from which you wish to send a confidential e-mail.
Enter your e-mail address in the sender field. If you have not used the service for ten (10) days, you must register for it.
Enter the identifier (6HvN in the example) above the ID field in the ID field. Note that the identifier is case-sensitive.
Click the “Continue” button.
After this, you will be taken to the registration page. Click the “Register” button.
You will receive an e-mail with a link for sending confidential e-mails to the e-mail address you have entered.
A message about registration will appear on the confidential e-mail sending page of the browser you are using.
Please note that the e-mail may also be in your junk mail folder and sent from no-reply@vakehyva.fi. If you are using a public computer, please clear the browser cache after using the service.
Once your registration has been successfully completed, you will receive a new message in your inbox. At the end of the message, you will find a link to send a confidential e-mail to VAKE.
Please note that the registration is only valid for 10 days, so please send your e-mail immediately after registration.
Enter the e-mail address(es) of the recipient(s) in the recipient field. Make sure that you have the correct e-mail address.
Enter the subject, the message and attach the necessary documents. To add the documents, select “Files” and then press “Paste”.
Please note that the maximum attachment size is 400MB. The file can also be sent in a compressed format if necessary.
Finally, click on the “Send” button.
Once the message has been sent, you will see a confirmation message in your browser stating that the message has been successfully sent.

The Registry is not able to receive files shared on cloud services, such as Google Drive and OneDrive, or encrypted messages from Gmail and Outlook.
The registry accepts the most common text and image files.
The accepted text file formats include PDF and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files with the extensions doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt and pptx. We recommend that you send the documents in PDF format.
The accepted image file types are the most common raster-based file types: jpg, jpeg, png and gif.
Name the files so that the file name describes the contents of the file. Submit any attachments as separate files. Please include the date of the document in the file name. Examples of how to name files:

If you are submitting a list of attachments, name the attachments according to the numbering given in the list.
