The payment of compensation for services of older people, people with disabilities and children, young people, and families in the wellbeing services county of Vantaa will be transferred to the Oima service 14.11.2025.
Due to the change, the payment day for compensation will also be changed.

The advantages with Oima are, that compensation receivers in the future themselves can notify their matters regarding care through their own service portal and can check their own agreements, compensation calculations and information regarding retained free days.  The valid tax card information used for the payment of compensation will be updated electronically in Oima directly from the Tax administrations system.

The introduction of the Oima service will change the payment day for compensation. Today the compensation and reimbursement of expenses are paid in general during the current month. With the introduction of the Oima service, the compensation for the care period and the reimbursement of expenses are paid on the 15 th on the following month or in other words the compensation and reimbursement for October are paid 14.11.2025. With the change you can report events for the entire care period at the same time.   The goal with the change is to decrease the rectification of faults and recovery of payments.

With the introduction of Oima, for substitute carers in elderly and disability services will no longer receive compensation automatically. From now on, they must record the completed care sessions directly in Oima.

Changes in payments for substitute care

Since Oima was introduced, substitute carers will not be paid automatically anymore. From now on, substitute carers will have to add their actual care days in Oima. In the future, the substitute carer will only be paid for logged days during the treatment period. The fee is paid on the 15th day of the following month, or the weekday before it. If care days are not logged, the substitute carer’s fees will not be paid.

Remember the correct tax card

Please make sure that you have a valid and correct tax card in Oima. From now on, substitute carers cannot be paid using a tax card for earned income, instead you need a tax card for informal care (omaishoitajan verokortti). If Oima shows that your tax card is missing, please request the correct tax card from the Tax Administration (Vero) – it will be automatically sent to Oima.
