Resident questionnaire: Efficient service is most important for residents

News

In the resident questionnaire 2026, the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava (VAKE) sought to find out what was most important to residents when it comes to services, as well as what works well, and what needs to be improved. 768 residents responded to the questionnaire.

Residents appreciate accessibility, efficiency, and expertise

First and foremost, residents want quick and easy access to services, especially to doctors and dental care. Of respondents, 76% think efficient reachability and 72% think quick access to services is the most important for successfully organized services.

The personnel's expertise and professional skills is also deemed important. In the free-text responses, respondents repeatedly expressed a desire for shorter waiting times, easier appointment booking, and nearby services.

Clear communication and findable information facilitate efficient services

Most respondents get information about the services from VAKE's webpage. Almost three out of four (73%) say they use the webpage when looking for information about services. Respondents also get information directly from VAKE personnel and social media channels. Some respondents do find it challenging to find information.

In many free-text responses, requests concerning language are mentioned. Plain language and efficient interactions between the client and professional enhance the service.

The responses provide a solid foundation for developing services

“The residents’ message is clear. We want to improve appointment booking, accessibility, and the efficiency of services, as well as find solutions to enhance access to services and care. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who responded to the questionnaire”, says county chief executive Timo Aronkytö.

The results of the resident questionnaire provide clear directions for the development of services. The results will be used in development work and are also assessed from the point of view of different resident groups to ensure that services are fair and better meet residents’ needs.
