The goal with the podiatry in Wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava is to improve the health and functionality of the feet.

The podiatrist examines and assesses diversely the reasons to the problems with the lower limbs using a wide range of podiatric assessment methods. From on the obtained results the podiatrist draws up the individual treatment plan and defines the used methods and assesses the need of further podiatry.

Prerequisites

Podiatry is firstly meant for persons with high-risk diabetes or rheumatism who are using health services in Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county. The activity is based on an assessment of the treatment needs, not just the diagnosis. Everyone with diabetes or rheumatism do not have a need to go to a podiatrist's appointment.

Please note, that the podiatry services in the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava is intended for prevention and treatment of severe foot problems. Self-care of feet, like cutting toenails, is on everyone's own responsibility. When needed, the client can use private podiatric services on his/her own expense, if self-care of feet is not possible independently.
