Finland's screening programme is laid down in the Health Care Act. People in the screening age group will receive an invitation to the screening.
The HUS Diagnostic Center invites different age groups to colorectal cancer screening according to the list below. The list indicates the first year of screening. Thereafter, the screening will continue every two years until the age group reaches 74 years of age. The screening is free of charge.
The screening is based on a test that looks for hidden blood in the stool. No appointment is needed for collecting a sample or delivering it to the laboratory for analysis.
