Medical rehabilitation for children and young people

Medical rehabilitation is a complementary rehabilitation service designed to help you or your child cope with day-to-day life, and it is granted based on an injury or illness. Medical rehabilitation includes physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy services that complement the wellbeing services county's own activities. These services are provided based on an assessment by the wellbeing services county's own therapist.

Medical rehabilitation may also include assistive equipment gr…anted on an individual basis. Assistive equipment can be included in medical rehabilitation if they substantially improve your ability to cope with everyday activities. You can get personalised assistive equipment based on a health care professional's referral, or you can apply for the service yourself.

Prerequisites

The service is intended for clients of the wellbeing services county's health services.

If you need guidance or advice on your rehabilitation, you can contact our rehabilitation coordinators. They will help you with purchasing services related to therapies and assistive equipment.
