Rehabilitative work activities are offered to working-age people who have been unemployed long-term and live in the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava. You can discuss your need for the service with your personal career coach in employment services. A multidisciplinary employment or activation plan will be drawn up with you, which outlines the steps for you to move towards working life.
Rehabilitative work activities help those who have difficulties finding a job due to, for example, the lack of vocational training, work ability, everyday skills, job search skills or work experience; the need for career planning; poor IT or language skills; problems with physical or mental health; substance abuse or the need for special support.
You can access the service by contacting your career coach in employment services, primarily via the online self-service (työmarkkinatori.fi).
The service starts once your career coach has identified rehabilitative work activities as a suitable service for you. Then, you will create an employment or activation plan with the help of your coach and social counselling, which outlines the type of activities, location, schedule and objectives. Throughout the service, the achievement of the objectives is assessed with the service personnel.
Coaching House Kantti offers rehabilitative work activities for persons, who need support in life management, strengthening of work life skills and finding their own further pathways. The activity is goal-oriented yet flexible: everyone progresses from their own starting point and according to their own training plan. The costumers are referred to the service through employment services, and they are offered individualized activation and employment plan. The working day lengths, week rhythm and the content of the workshops are formed according to the costumer´s functionality, coping and goals. No special skills are required - the most important is to come and start working toward own goals. Kanttis facilities are not accessible for all parts.
Living room for young adults is a workshop with low threshold, where the most important is participation and contact with others in same life situation. In the living room you can talk about everyday life, play board games, do some small creative projects, go on trips, or just stop by to reflect on life and life management with others. For many the living room is the first step toward establishing a regular daily routine and learning to function as part of a group. During the week there are many different living room groups for different days.
Fokus is aimed for young adults who are interested in digital technology, media, or developing job-search skills. In the workshops is practising working on computer both in Mac and Windows, but equally important is discussion, articulating one’s own expertise, and making it visible. At Fokus you can make CVs and job applications, learn Adobe programs, plan posters or make short videos. Some young take online courses or try out, what goal-oriented studies feels like. The tasks are tailored from beginners to advanced learners.
At Voimala, we approach things through creative methods, participatory coaching, and person-centred approach. In the guided process, activities such as drawing, painting, writing, imagery work, and discussion help participants increase their self-awareness, identify their own strengths, and reflect on their future. Participatory coaching is structured around themes such as agency, communality, and affecting. The contents are planned and carried out together with participants. Also visits to objects in the near are included in the activities, such as museums and libraries.
At the packaging workshop products destined for sale to businesses are packed and prepared in small groups. The work is precise and follows specific instructions, and the products are carefully packed according to a template.
At the logistic workshop is made varied and partly physical work. Duties may include transportation, outdoor work, seasonal work, and assisting elderly.
Living room for adults offer a peaceful and social environment, where we discuss about challenges and successes of everyday life, do handicrafts, paint, play games, and go on trips. Activities support coping, social skills and weekday rythm. Participation require sufficient skills in Finnish language.
The advanced group is intended for all customers at Kantti, who are entering the job life or considering other possible career paths. At the workshop the situation is assessed, search for jobs, write CVs and cover letters, and learn about online job search platforms.
At the workshop basic cleaning is practised in a real-world work environment. The work is concrete and clear and suits as a first step toward work life rhythm.
Pokka is a training form, where in-person and remote coaching is combined. One day a week we work at the coaching house, and on another day, we work remotely. The remote tasks are made in writing, so participation require basic skills in reading and writing.
In Kantti individual coaching goes alongside workshop activities. In individual coaching one can focus on planning the future, job search, applying to studies, weekday challenges, clarifying goals, and understanding ones whole life situation. When needed we cooperate with social counselling and direct clients to other services.

Reeli offers a variety of activities:
- In the kitchen, you take part in the daily lunch and coffee service for the clients and staff of the training houses, while learning customer service. - In logistics and furniture recycling, you are involved in laundry and furniture transport. You gain experience in warehouse tasks, such as shelving, and other tasks related to inventory and warehouse maintenance. - In laundry services, you are involved in laundry and textile care. - In cleaning services, you take part in basic and maintenance cleaning in the coaching houses. - In renovation services, you participate in surface repair, such as painting stairwells, doors and offices, panelling and floor coating. - In recycling services, you take part in the recycling of electronic equipment. You learn, for example, how to dismantle, sort and recycle electrical waste and electronic equipment.
