Individual and group therapy in mental health and substance abuse services
Group therapy
Group therapy offers you information, peer support and tools for, for example, managing depression and anxiety, preventing relapse and living a meaningful life. Some of the groups are open, meaning you can participate without registration. Other groups are assembled by a professional. All groups are confidential and guided.
Prerequisites
At the beginning of your treatment, your care and service needs are assessed. After the assessment, you may be recommended individual or group therapy in the mental health and substance abuse services or online therapy provided by HUS. You can join the open peer support groups without registration. The service is intended for adults living in the wellbeing services county.
You can contact us by phone at 09 4191 1100, on weekdays at 9.00-13.00. Before contacting the mental health services, please complete the Therapy Navigator symptom checker. The need for treatment is assessed with you on an individual basis.
You can join the open groups without registration. For more information about the groups, please visit our website or call us. Please note that group therapy is only available in Finnish.
You may also be referred to individual and group therapy when you visit a walk-in clinic.
