Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county offers apprenticeship agreements for the pursuit of a degree or a part of a degree. At the moment, we offer apprenticeship agreements for practical nurses and care assistants. You can apply for an apprenticeship agreement mainly through a joint application process. Individual apprenticeship agreements are limited.

We invest in the training and career development of doctors. For example, all health centres in Vantaa are part of our professional Teaching Health Centre. The education and training of Bachelors of Medicine and doctors specialising in general medical practice is coordinated by the Teaching Health Centre. We have a designated senior medical officer in charge of training and three super tutors.

Are you a 4th-year medical student hoping to gain work experience in a relaxed and friendly working environment? Come and work in Vantaa or Kerava for the summer. With us, you gain experience from a wide range of hospital services in primary care. For example, Katriina Hospital has seven rehabilitation wards and a geriatric outpatient clinic, while Peijas Hospital has two geriatric assessment and acute care wards and an at-home hospital.

We ask you, who have had an internship in Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county (VAKE), to assess your internship period with the questionnaire on your last week of internship. Participation is voluntary, but by answering you can affect the development and quality of the guidance and learning environments. With the feedback from the quality questionnaire about VAKEs student guidance we develop our learning environments and the student guidance carried out in them. Moreover, the answers from the quality questionnaire will be used in the national peer review among welfare areas.
The quality questionnaire consists of questions that map your background and claims, which relate to the learning environment, the role of the schoolteacher in the internship, the relationship between the student and the patient as well as the learning in the internship. In addition to the development work, the answers from the quality questionnaire of student guidance can be used in research, for which appropriate research permits are applied.
